The Mathematics for Sustainable Development (MATH4SDG) project has been organizing a variety of impactful events (since 2022) aimed at strengthening mathematics education and research. These include:
- Regional teacher training workshops across various regions in Tanzania, as part of outreach activities (2022 and 2023)
- Visits to schools in various regions in Tanzania, to motivate students to love mathematics and science. This was done jointly with local mathematical associations (2022–2025)
- Support organization of science camps (Physics and Mathematics) at UDSM
- Organised workshops on linking Mathematics research with industries. The main focus was applied mathematics and data science.
- PhD student-supervisors research writing retreats, aimed at getting uninterrupted one-on-one days, away from the busy workstations, thus accelerating research publications and dissertation writing.
- Organized a training workshop on programming using Python software, for postgraduate students and staff members of the department of mathematics
